ExpatMedicare Travel Insurance for Claude and ChatGPT

Get a travel insurance quote, compare plans and choose your cover inside your AI assistant.

Last updated: November 2026

Overview

The connector brings ExpatMedicare’s travel insurance quote into your AI assistant. It asks about your trip, prices plans from our own panel and our partners, rules out the ones that don’t fit, and shortlists the best for you.

It is free to use, and you don’t need an ExpatMedicare account. ExpatMedicare is the brand name of Clema Risk Solutions Limited, an insurance brokerage company licensed in Hong Kong (licence number FA2640).

Connect

In Claude: open Settings, then Connectors, and find ExpatMedicare Travel Insurance in the directory. You can also choose Add custom connector and enter this address. No sign-in is needed.

In ChatGPT: where custom connectors are available on your plan, add a connector with the same address and no authentication.

Then start a new chat and make sure the connector is switched on.

Get a quote

  1. Ask for a quote

Tell the assistant you need travel insurance. A quote card opens in the chat, with Mira, our AI travel insurance adviser.

  2. Answer three quick questions

Your destinations, the length of your trip and the age of each traveller. Tap an answer in the card, or type it in the chat.

  3. See the plans

Every plan available for your trip appears as a card, with its cover and the points to check before you buy.

  4. Answer six further questions

Type of cover, extra cover, country of residence, nationality, pre-existing conditions and whether your journey has begun. The “Your matches” panel shows which plans still fit after each answer.

  5. Compare your shortlist

Plans are grouped under Best price, Best value and Best protection, with up to three in each. Open any plan’s full benefits, or compare up to three side by side.

  6. View the price and choose

Tap View price and leave your contact details to unlock prices. Choose plan then takes you to the insurer’s or partner’s website to buy.

Good to know

  • Prices are estimates for a trip starting about a week from today. The insurer confirms the exact price.
  • Mira is an AI. She explains the results; ExpatMedicare’s own rules decide which plans fit and which are shortlisted.
  • Travel plans cover shorter trips. If your stay is 6 months or longer, the quote points you to short-term international health insurance instead.
  • Plans available depend on your trip and your country of residence, so the list can change as you answer.
  • Payment happens on the insurer’s or partner’s own website. The connector does not take payment.
  • Most travel plans do not cover a condition you already have. New accidents and illness on the trip are still covered, subject to each plan’s terms.

Data and privacy

Your quote answers are used to price plans and work out which fit you. Our partners receive only your trip details. Your answers, including the health question, are also sent to our AI provider to write each plan’s “Why it fits you” lines.

We ask for your name, email and phone number only if you tap View price, so that an adviser can follow up with you.

Full details are in section 13 of our Privacy Policy.

Troubleshooting and support

The assistant replies in text and no card opens.
Check that the connector is switched on for this chat, start a new chat, and ask again for a travel insurance quote.
Claude asks me to approve each step.
In Claude’s connector settings, set the connector’s tools to Always allow.
A message appears in my message box with a caution notice.
Claude asks you to confirm any message a card sends, such as the suggestion chips under the shortlist. Press Enter if you want to send it.
Fewer plans appear than expected.
Partners answer live, so one may be temporarily unavailable. Each answer can also rule plans out; “Your matches” shows why.
The checkout link says the quote has expired.
Quotes are valid for a short time. Ask for the plans again to get fresh prices.
