Medical evacuation: the benefit you hope never to use

Evacuation cover sounds binary — you have it or you don't. In practice the wording decides where you land and who signs off on the flight.

• "Nearest adequate facility" may mean a regional hospital, not your home country.
• Pre-authorisation is almost always mandatory except in life-threatening emergencies.
• Repatriation of remains is a separate benefit from medical evacuation.
